We felt pampered as soon as we entered the Pullman Cairns Vie day spa. I’m not sure if it’s the calming music and scented oil or the crisp white dressing gowns you are given to wear on arrival, but you definitely feel spoilt.
After signing in and changing into our robes, we were led through to the Sanctuary Room to await our therapists. How divine does the ‘Sanctuary Room’ sound?
It has different seating areas with daybeds, sectioned off by floor-to-ceiling sheer curtains, giving a soft and calming atmosphere to the large, spacious room.
We weren’t seated very long before our therapists arrived and asked us to choose our preferred massage oil from a range of four different scented oils. We then headed off to the massage rooms.
We opted for the wonderfully relaxing ‘balance and calm massage’ as part of our day spa package but guests can choose from a range of treatments including an organic facial, the balance and calm massage, a Vie Spa hand therapy, a Vie Spa foot therapy, a hot stone massage or the Italian orange and jojoba scrub with Vichy shower.

If you opt for the lunch you can choose one of these 60-minute beauty treatments and then head downstairs afterwards to Coco’s Restaurant for lunch, which includes a main course and dessert, as well as a glass of house wine, bubbles or juice.
The High Tea package offers either an organic facial, the balance and calm massage, a hot stone massage or the Italian orange and jojoba scrub with Vichy shower, followed by High Tea in Coco’s Restaurant.
Our massages were fantastically relaxing. The head massage at the end, which was my favourite part, it was incredible.
I was feeling very relaxed by the end of my treatment when we met back in the Sanctuary Room to lounge on daybeds and enjoy a herbal tea and berry sorbet.

After changing back into our clothes we floated down to the next phase of our morning – High Tea in Coco’s Restaurant.
We were presented with a three-tiered platter offering a selection of finger sandwiches, petit fours, sweet and savoury pastries, scones with jam and cream and a choice of tea or coffee.
The biggest decision was what to choose first, it all looked so good. And everything tasted amazing.
This is a great way to spend a morning relaxing in Cairns. Highly recommended.
